WORK HISTORY

Generator and Plant Field Tech Support

2023-Current

Generator Manufacturer Subsidiary

I have been back in the field attending breakdowns and maintenance on the full range of generators and plant equipment, providing technical support over the phone and on site with other engineers using strong schematic reading skills in both hydraulic and electrical diagrams. Also working closely with sales team to make any customer specific modifications on generators including sourcing of parts and dealing with suppliers for “to spec” components then taking on the modification work to fulfil customer and business needs.

Temporary Generator Service Manager,

2021-2023

Generator Manufacturer Subsidiary

I then was asked to take on a temporary role managing and growing the generator side of the business running a smaller team of engineers overseeing PDI’s and modifications from standard, any breakdowns in the field again planning and organising directly with customers and providing technical support and assistance to customers and engineers. Also attending breakdowns myself and helping out with call out cover.

Service Supervisor,

2020-2021

Generator Manufacturer Subsidiary

I pushed myself further to take on and learn different aspects of the business with a supervisor role, this included running a team of 8 engineers and planning and organising work liaising directly with customers and ordering parts required. Alongside providing technical support to customers and engineers including assisting with fault finding and schematic chasing.

Field Service Engineer,

2011-2020

Generator Manufacturer Subsidiary

I continued my apprenticeship at College and won apprentice of the year in my second and third year of college. I went on the road part way through my second year and became a field service engineer working on my own initiative and working as part of the team of engineers servicing and maintaining the range of construction equipment, mainly carrying out fault diagnostics including basic fault finding methods and more technical methods like reading hydraulic and electrical schematics, pressure testing flow testing along with laptop diagnostics and ordering parts and carrying out the repairs required to keep the machines operational and minimising customer downtime.
